   Scotty “Dog” Griffin – Drums

Wanting to play drums is one of Scotty’s early memories. He grew up in the SF bay area and started playing real drums at age 10. He played all through grammar school, high school and dropped out of college to go on the road with jazz and cover bands. Scotty played the Western States and Canada, Tahoe and all over the Bay Area for the next 11 years, settled in the South Bay and has played many local clubs and festivals. He made a live CD with San Jose's own local jazz legend Eddie Gale, played with Ron Thompson, Murray Lowe, Peter Barshay. He is influenced by the many masters that have paved the way before him from Baby Dodds, Zutty Singleton and Sid Catlett through to the great players of today in many various styles. Some of the best moments of his life are when he picks up a rhythm or beat from one of his idols . . . the list is vast.
